燃料サーチャージ
うだるような暑さが続きます。周囲の田んぼでは既に出穂を迎えておりまして(私の田はまだですが)、日暮れ時になると農薬のにおいがあちこちから漂ってきます。
こんな時季にコスモスとモクレンが咲いております。花まで今年の天候には惑わされているようです。
今日、ラジオで｢燃料サーチャージ｣について話がありました。高騰した原油価格を飛行機やトラックなどの運送費用に上乗せするというものです。その中で驚いたのが宮崎県の農協がピーマンにこれを適用させるという話でした。
ハウスを加温する際に使用する燃料代が高騰したのがその理由ということですが、この話を聞いて一般消費者がどう思うのかが私の気になるところです。
これを飛行機やトラック同様に当然のこと、致し方ないこと、と感じるのか否かで自分達が口にしているものに対する認識具合が分かれるのではないでしょうか。
さて、皆さんはどちらの立場に立っているでしょうか。そしてなぜそう思うのでしょうか。私の立場は言わずもがな、ですので敢えて述べませんが、こうした一見なんでもない経済ニュースと思われがちな出来事も実は根っこの部分では我々の生命と自然界の秩序に大きく関わる問題だということには気付いてもらいたいものです。
