猿再び
最近は毎夜のように熊が出没している様子。毎朝さくらの散歩のときに柿の木を見ると順番に爪の跡が残されていっています。日暮れ直後くらいの時間でも目撃情報が出ているので怖い話です。
さて、本題の猿ですが、先週の目撃以来しばらく姿を見ておりませんでした。先週初めて姿を見てからすぐに電動エアガンを購入(高かった・・・)。しかしその後姿を見なかったのでよかったような、出費が惜しいような複雑な心境でした。
今日の昼食時、本堂のほうでガタガタと物音がしました。檀家の人でも来ているのかと放っておきましたところ、外に目を向けた私の視界に突然猿が。
図々しくも本堂と庫裡の間にある渡り廊下の屋根の上に座ってこっちを見ているではありませんか。その距離１０ｍもありません。なるほど、それでさくらが先ほどから外を凝視していたわけです。
早速電動エアガンの出番です。いつでも出動できるように準備しておりましたのですぐさま縁側から発砲。焦ってしまったので残念ながら猿に当たることはありませんでしたが、充分威嚇にはなったでしょうか。
裏山に逃げた猿に多少の追い込みをかけ、おかげでそれ以後は現れなかったようです。
これほど生活圏に立ち入られますと何を悪戯されるか、油断が出来ません。まだまだ繰り返しこういうことが起こるのでしょうが、何とか近寄らないようになってくれることを祈るばかりです。
