稲の色
毎日暑い日が続きます。今日は夕立が降ってくれるおかげで,いつもは蒸し風呂状態の我が家も快適な夕方を迎えられております。
今年はなかなか季節の移ろいが判りにくいようでして,早いところではコシヒカリも出穂しております。これまでの生育具合から今年はもう少しゆっくりめかと思っていましたが,これも私の勝手な思い違いだったのかもしれませんで,自然界は着実に秋に向けて動き始めているようです。
さて,写真はうちから見た田んぼの風景です。田んぼの色の違いに気づかれたでしょうか。色の濃い田と薄い田があるのがわかるでしょうか。このあたりではほとんどの田んぼがコシヒカリを植えていますので,品種は同じです。育ち方によって色の出方が大きく変わっているのです。
うちの周囲では私を含めて3人ほど自然栽培（有機農法）で稲を作っておりまして,色の濃い田んぼはその3件の田です。その他はいわゆる慣行農法（農協指導型の科学農法）の田です。
あらかじめ断っておき,ますが,どちらがいいとか悪いとか言う話ではありません。稲だけでなく,野菜も花も何でもそうですが,育ち方によってその姿・形・色などまったく違ったものになるということです。どの状態がいいと思われるかはその人の考え方，つまりは生き方次第ということになります。
何がどう違ってきて,写真のような差になるのか。普段何気なく口にしているお米ですが,消費者側にはあまりにも何も知らされていない気がしています。稲の姿といってもテレビなどでは田植えと稲刈りくらいしか見せませんし,生育過程なんて知る機会がないのが現状ではないでしょうか。
すべての食べ物についてその生い立ちを知って口にするというのが理想ですが,そこまでいかなくともせめて主食である米くらいはもっと知っておくべきじゃないかな,と。
ここでまた私の意地が悪いところでもあり,モノグサなところでもあるのですが,食べる側にもそういったことをもっと勉強してもらいたいな,と思っております。当然生産者側も勉強不足なところが多々ありますのが現実ですが,「消費者の声」によって生産活動を左右されているという現状から考えますと，消費者がもっと食いついてきてもいいんじゃないかな，とも思えるのです。
与えられた情報やマニュアルは真理から遠ざかっていくことが多い。自分で見て,触って,味わって,感じて，と五感をフルに使って考え,調べていく中で真理のひとかけらでもようやく見えそうになるものです。
ちなみにここでは私の考える稲の違いについては明かしませんが,現地に来て直接見たい・知りたいという場合にはその限りではありませんよ。明確な答えがあるわけではありませんが,私なりの自然観,稲との接し方はお伝えできると思います。

先日はお邪魔しました。
稲の色についてですが，自然に育つと出穂直前に最も色が濃くなります。竹も含めイネ科植物はたいていそうですね。
科学農法田で出穂前に色がさめるのは化学肥料の効かせ方の問題でして，稲の生理ではありません。
株間の取り方も当然稲の生育には関係してきます。
色だけの問題でいいますと，簡単に言えば稲が自然にある肥料分を自分の意思で適宜取り込んで育つのか，人間が管理して育てるのか，の違いとでも言いましょうか。
耐病性の問題で言いますと，色が不自然に濃くなりすぎるというのはチッソ過多でして，人間でたとえるといわゆる肥満児ですから，当然病気にかかりやすい個体になりますね。この場合は色だけというよりも葉の硬さや形，大きさなどに確たる違いがありますし，色の出る時季も違いの参考になります。
なかなか一言ではうまく説明できていませんが，またゆっくりお話できるときにでもつづきを。

もちろん単純なペーパークロマトグラフィーの方が分かりやすいかも・・・
なぜ増えるのか？肥料の少ない粗放的な栽培で、植物側が光合成をあげるために対応しているのでしょうか？とすると抗菌ペプチドの合成など耐病性も上がっているのでしょうか？いろいろと考えるのは楽しいですね。
