後半戦開始
本日より残りの田植えを開始しました。タイトルには｢後半戦｣と仰々しくかいておりますが、残りは１反８畝です。先週に３反５畝くらいは植え終わっておりますので、かなり気は楽です。
昨日夕方から降り始めた雨も今朝には上がっておりまして、今日は朝から田植えをはじめるか、と思っておりましたが、先週来の疲れがたまっておりまして、今朝は容易に動き始められませんでした。
先週の田植えが終わってからすでに１週間過ぎておりまして、田んぼの草もどんどん生えてきます。ということで先日よりこれらの田んぼはすでに除草作業が始まっておりまして、それと平行して畑のほうもどんどん忙しくなってきておりました。特に畑のほうは作業が追いついてないところもありまして、後手後手になりつつありますが、とにかく今は田んぼのほうが優先です。
とまあ、こんな感じですから疲れもたまってくるわけですが、ここで無理をするか少し体を休めるかが難しい選択でもあります。とにかく今日の場合は私なりには限界を感じましたので半日休ませてもらい、午後から田植えを始めました。
午後からは天気回復との予報でしたが、いざ植え始める頃になると小さい雨が降ってきまして、夕方近くなるに従って風も冷たく思いのほか体が冷えました。よく考えてみると今年の田植えは一人で植えるのは今日が始めてでした。先週友人たちと楽しく田植えをさせてもらっていたおかげで体のほうも田植えの姿勢にだいぶ馴染んできていたようで、たった半日ではありましたがかなり楽に田植えが進みました。この田んぼで終わりだという気持ちの面での影響も大きかったんでしょうね。
明日はまた助っ人が来てくれる予定になっております。順調にいけば明日で田植えは終了ということになりそうです。まあ、田植えが終わってからのほうが大変なのですが、とにもかくにも一大行事はひと段落ということになりそうです。
